PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN

Many photographers dread photographing children as it can be a daunting task.  Hyperactive kids and nervous parents can make the event anywhere from an adventure to a disaster.

It takes careful planning to pull off a successful children’s photo shoot.  The pointers below are guidelines that are vital to creating the most comfortable and relaxed environment for what should be a fun adventure.  It takes preparation and communication by both parties: the photographer and the parents.

Photographer

• Ensure all equipment needed is available and in good working order; batteries charged, etc.
• Include toys or other items to entertain the children.
• If possible, have an assistant that is relaxed and works well with children.
  • Communicate beforehand with the parents concerning the shoot location(s), clothing, toys to entertain and the best time of day for the children.

Parents

• Communicate with the photographer (see above).
• Provide toys or other familiar items to entertain the children.
• Plan the day so parents and children are rested and as relaxed as possible.
• Don’t get angry or frustrated with the children during the photo session.  Let the photographer direct the show and be as supportive and patient as possible.  That is the photographer’s job as well.

If all of these guidelines are followed, the resulting photographs will reflect the mood and personality of the children.

High School Classmates

The Goldwater Memorial, Camelback Inn and Camelback Mountain form the backdrop for Azy’s outing with these lovely Arcadia High School classmates.  The weather was gorgeous and the girls had fun romping through the grass and posing among the flowers while creating lasting high school memories with close friends.

Afternoon skies cleared to provide a glorious, sunshiny backdrop for Kristen and Brandon’s special outdoor wedding!  The Arrowhead Country Club provided not only exceptional beauty, elegance and comfort for Kristen and Brandon’s wedding, but the staff, including the wedding coordinator, did an outstanding job of keeping the event on schedule while handling all the details that make up a successful ceremony and reception.  The exceptional dinner was served with speed and courtesy.  The Arrowhead Country Club and staff are to be congratulated for a job well done!

This beautiful North Scottsdale resort brings exceptional style, comfort, Southwestern ambiance and a pampering attitude that pervades the hotel and its staff.  Rain forced Jamie and Mario’s wedding inside but the move was handled seamlessly with speed, grace and professionalism.  Each member of the staff, including the wedding coordinator, was prepared for the possibility and the wedding and reception went off without a hitch!
